1. Who we are

ClickTech.online is an independently operated website publishing practical guides on printer setup, troubleshooting, and maintenance. We are not affiliated with any printer manufacturer. Our website is accessible at clicktech.online and all subpages thereof.

For the purposes of UK GDPR and applicable data protection law, ClickTech.online is the data controller for personal information collected through this site.

2. What information we collect

Information you give us directly

If you use the contact form on our Contact page, we collect your name, email address, and the content of your message. We use this solely to respond to your enquiry. We do not add contact form submissions to any mailing list without explicit consent.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our hosting provider collects basic server logs when you access the site. These logs may include your IP address, browser type, the page requested, and the time of the request. This data is used for security monitoring and diagnosing technical problems. It is not used for marketing and is not shared with third parties.

We also use analytics software (see the Third-party services section below) that collects aggregated information about how visitors use the site — which pages are most visited, how long visitors spend on each page, and so on. This helps us understand what content is useful and what to write next. We do not use this data to identify individual visitors.

3. Cookies and tracking

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites you visit. ClickTech.online uses cookies in the following limited ways:

Analytics cookies: We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate traffic patterns. Google Analytics places cookies on your device to distinguish unique visitors and track sessions. The data collected is anonymised before we see it. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

No advertising cookies: We do not use advertising networks or allow third-party advertising cookies on this site. We do not serve personalised advertisements.

You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to refuse cookies entirely, though doing so may affect how some websites function.

Some links on ClickTech.online are affiliate links, primarily to Amazon. If you click one of these links and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission from the retailer at no additional cost to you. Affiliate links are how we fund the running of this site.

Affiliate relationships do not influence our editorial content. We do not recommend products because of commission rates, and we do not accept payment to feature or positively review specific products. Our recommendations are based solely on our own experience and testing.

Clicking an affiliate link may result in a tracking cookie being placed on your device by the retailer (e.g. Amazon). This tracking is governed by the retailer's own privacy policy, not ours.

5. Third-party services

We use a small number of third-party services to operate and improve the site. Each of these has their own privacy policies and data handling practices.

Google Analytics — for aggregated, anonymised website traffic analysis. Google's Privacy Policy.

Google Fonts — we load typefaces from Google's font service. This means Google's servers may log your IP address when fonts are requested. Google's Privacy Policy.

We do not share your personal data with any third party for their marketing purposes. We do not sell personal data.

6. Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the following rights in relation to personal data we hold about you:

Right of access: You can request a copy of any personal data we hold about you.

Right to rectification: You can ask us to correct inaccurate personal data.

Right to erasure: You can ask us to delete personal data we hold about you, subject to certain legal obligations.

Right to restrict processing: You can ask us to limit how we use your data while a complaint is being resolved.

Right to object: You can object to our processing of your personal data in certain circumstances.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in the section below. We will respond within one month.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) if you believe we have handled your data unlawfully. The ICO's website is ico.org.uk.

7. Contact us about privacy

If you have questions or concerns about how we handle personal data, or wish to exercise any of your rights, please use our Contact page and select "Something else" from the subject menu, or email us directly at privacy@clicktech.online.

We will acknowledge your request within five working days and aim to resolve it fully within one month.

This policy was last updated in February 2025. We will update it if our data practices change materially, and the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes.
